Subscriptions and Licenses
How do I start a subscription?
For Alfie Start and Growth, it's automatic. Choose your desired package, number of licenses, and payment method. After filling in the details, your organization is ready to go!
For Alfie Custom, we'll first contact you to discuss your needs and make a tailored proposal. Once you agree, we'll send you a link to complete the subscription.
How do I cancel my subscription?
The administrator can cancel the subscription via the organization page. The subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period (monthly or yearly). After that, the organization is automatically deactivated and users lose their license.
Can I easily switch packages or change the number of licenses?
If you have Alfie Start or Alfie Growth and pay via SEPA direct debit, you can do this directly via the organization page. If you pay by invoice, or if you have Alfie Custom, please contact us and we'll arrange it as quickly as possible!
When upgrading, changes take effect immediately and you can start using the extra licenses right away. You'll pay the difference for the remaining period immediately. When downgrading licenses, the new price takes effect from the next billing period. You then have some time to reduce the number of users in your organization to the new maximum.
What about usage limits for organizations?
We've set the limits generously so you shouldn't encounter any issues. Only if someone generates an extremely large amount of material will they receive a notification that the limit has been reached. Other teachers in the organization can still use Alfie. Limits are reset every Monday.
Payment & Administration
Who processes my payment?
Payments for Alfie are securely handled by Stripe, a globally recognized and trusted payment provider. Stripe ensures your payment information is well protected and enables payment with various methods such as SEPA direct debit and credit cards.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay directly with SEPA direct debit, credit card, or these regional payment methods: iDEAL (Netherlands), Bancontact (Belgium), SOFORT (Germany/Austria). You can also choose to pay by invoice - your subscription starts immediately and you'll receive an invoice by email with a payment link. We ask you to pay within 30 days.
We currently don't support manual bank transfers.
What if something goes wrong with the payment?
Usually there's nothing to worry about and you can simply try again. If you still experience a problem, please contact us at support@alfie.school and we'll resolve it as quickly as possible!
Organization Management and Support
How do administrator accounts work?
The person who creates the organization automatically becomes administrator. This person can assign and revoke licenses and manage the subscription.
Alfie Start includes 1 free administrator account. Alfie Growth includes 2. For Alfie Custom, the number of administrator accounts is negotiable. If there are multiple administrator accounts, you can assign new administrators via the organization page.
If you have are on the Alfie Start plan and want to change the administrator, please contact us.
How does inviting and removing colleagues work?
On the organization page, the administrator can invite colleagues by entering their email address. They'll receive an invitation to sign up for Alfie and become a member of the organization. If they already have an account, you can invite them the same way, provided they're not a member of another organization and don't have an individual subscription.
You can revoke licenses in a similar way via the organization page.
How does the onboarding meeting for administrators work?
For Alfie Growth and Custom subscribers, we offer an online onboarding meeting for administrators. We'll walk through the administrator dashboard together, answer questions, and provide tips for a smooth start. Fortunately, it's not too complicated, so it's also just a nice way to get acquainted 😊
After you've completed your subscription, we'll contact you to schedule an appointment.
Where can I go if something goes wrong?
You can always email us at support@alfie.school. We'll do our best to respond as quickly as possible.
If you have an Alfie Growth or Custom subscription, you can also contact us by phone. We're available Tuesday through Friday during business hours, but it may happen that we're in a meeting or workshop. Feel free to try again if we don't answer immediately. You can find the phone number on the organization page when you're logged in.
Workshops and Consultancy
What about the free workshop with an annual Alfie Growth subscription?
An annual subscription shows you're serious about implementing AI at school. That's why we offer a free workshop for the entire team with a new annual Alfie Growth subscription. For schools within the Netherlands, we're happy to visit on-site. For schools further away, we offer an interactive online session. The workshop lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on your needs.
We'll contact you after you've completed your subscription to schedule a date and align the content.
Can we also request a standalone workshop?
Absolutely! You can request standalone workshops regardless of whether you have a subscription. Contact us to discuss the possibilities :).
What does a typical workshop cover?
We're incredibly enthusiastic about the possibilities of AI in education, but this depends on responsible use, and therefore responsible users.
That's why we first establish a solid foundation by covering how AI works, its inherent possibilities and limitations, and the ethical aspects involved. Then we look at how AI can be effectively and responsibly implemented in teaching practice, with concrete examples and exercises. Here, we also dive into using Alfie itself so you can get the maximum use out of it. We always connect this to a vision of education and solid pedagogy.
We're happy to further tailor the workshop content to your specific needs.
What exactly does the consultancy involve?
AI is an enormous opportunity for education, but it also raises many questions. What does it mean for our vision of education? How do we ensure we implement AI effectively and responsibly? How do we prepare students for a world where AI is ubiquitous?
We help you answer these questions and develop a vision and policy that fit your school. We look at pedagogical possibilities, ethical aspects, organizational challenges, and communication with all stakeholders. We can also help with implementing Alfie itself, including smooth onboarding and ongoing support.
We're there as experts and sparring partners, but the final approach depends primarily on your specific challenges.
Privacy and Terms of Use
What about data security, privacy, and GDPR?
We take data security and privacy very seriously. All data is encrypted and stored on secure servers. We fully comply with GDPR.
For schools that require it, we offer the option to process all data exclusively within Europe and only use language models on European servers.
